Festival of new olive oil and orelletes in La Pobla de Cérvoles
La Pobla de Cérvoles invites you to a new edition of the New Oil and Orelletes Festival!
Since 2007, the Sant Isidre Llaurador Cooperative has organized the New Oil Fair and Les Orelletes. The celebration takes place in mid-December on the premises of the Cooperative and lasts all morning. The objective of the festival is to publicize the first oil of the harvest.
Attendees have the opportunity to witness the production of oil. The traditional method of crushing the olives with large stone grinders and cold pressing the paste in hydraulic presses is followed, watching the extra virgin oil flow out, which can be bought at the Cooperative's own store.
The party consists of a popular breakfast with sausage, sardines and toast. In addition, the new oil is tasted and also the orelletes (the typical dessert of the region for the holidays) and the wine from the local wineries. In addition, in parallel, you can visit the Ecomuseum.
