Concabella in Els Plans de Sió celebrates a new edition of the Barber Fair!

The activities will begin at 11 in the morning with a children's gymkhana, in the Church square. The participants, after solving a series of tests, will have to find a hidden treasure. Will they be able to decipher the enigma of the map?

At 12 noon, there will be the long-awaited representation of the legend of the barber, by the company La Guilla Teatre. They say that in the time of feudalism, the barber of Concabella cut the throat of the feudal lord for having used the right thigh with his wife, Rita. This crime could not go unpunished: the lady of the castle had the barber captured, imprisoned, and subsequently beheaded.

His head, to punish the entire population, was placed in a cage that hung from the castle's main tower. This macabre legend has been transmitted from generation to generation since ancient times and it will be staged precisely in the Plaza Mayor, under the cage, which still waves at the top of the tower.

To recover from the shock, at 1 pm you can have vermouth, which will be enlivened by a musical session by a DJ, and there will also be a table football tournament open to everyone. And at half past two, popular food. In order to participate in the tournament and lunch, it is necessary to register in advance.

At 5 in the afternoon, and as a closure of the fair, a large-format ornithological mural by the artist Swen Schmitz Coll will be inaugurated, which will form part of the Enciclopèdia Mural global project to highlight the fauna of the drylands that surround Concabella. The mural will decorate the façade of a house on Raval de Concabella street and the artist from Ivars d'Urgell will start painting on Saturday, May 6.

Throughout the morning, in the streets of the town there will be stalls for handicrafts and agri-food products, tavern service and in the castle there will be an open day.
