A little history
Olesa de Montserrat, through its Passion, is the framework from which a beautiful tradition that has been passed down from father to son for almost five centuries can be seen until it has become a first-rate spectacle. We have the first written reference documented in 1538. Over time, the tradition became an important theatrical show, heritage of our country, which has far transcended what was originally linked to the Holy Week period in Catalonia.
A large number of Olesanos and Olesanas participate selflessly, continuing a tradition that they have inherited from their ancestors. The Olesa Passion was the first of the passions to be awarded the Sant Jordi Cross by the Generalitat of Catalonia, in 2002.
adapted space
The Passion of Olesa de Montserrat has an exclusive area in the center of the stalls for attendees in wheelchairs.
People with hearing problems can also follow the performances thanks to the subtitling system of the dialogues in Spanish and English.
activities for schools
Visits to the theater of La Pasió d'Olesa for schoolchildren are a true educational and participatory workshop for children and young people. Under the name of "Teatre endins", the workshop allows school groups to discover the world of performing arts in one of the largest theaters in Catalonia.
The activity begins with an audiovisual that briefly explains the history of La Pasió d'Olesa de Montserrat. From here, the monitors guide the students through the theater so that they can learn in situ all the work necessary to carry out a performance. To end the workshop, an activity is carried out in which the students actively participate and become actors for a few minutes.
To request a school visit, a technical visit or a tailor-made visit for other groups, you just have to call or send an email to reserve it.
