Bellmunt del Priorat

Bellmunt del Priorat is a municipality located southwest of the Priorat region. It is located on top of a hill, on the left Siurana River, at the confluence with the river Montsant. And indeed, its location, which gives the name to the town, situated on top of a beautiful mountain.

In Priorat Bellmunt celebrate a curious, the Festival of Fools. It is the 30th of December and it is customary to make a popular food cooked on the street and by men. It is known by the name of "the Badejada" and consists of beans with badejo (cod). Apart from this event, the town celebrates, also in December, Santa Llucia-the 13th - and Santa Barbara on 4 -, patron saint of miners.
