Magical Christmas Forest in Igualada

Igualada lights up Christmas with the return of the Magic Forest to Paseo Verdaguer!

The Magic Forest on Paseo Verdaguer will once again become the stage for one of the most anticipated events: the switching on of the city's Christmas lights. And it won't be just any lighting ceremony, but an interactive spectacle in which the public will play an essential role in helping the fireflies illuminate the streets.

Entitled "Colors to Return Home," six stages spread along the promenade will simultaneously host the story of Fulgurina the firefly, who returns as the star after last year's success. However, this year she won't be alone: new fireflies will join her in this collective adventure that will transform the city into a grand Christmas tale. Each stage will feature six fireflies and a fragment of the story, allowing spectators to experience the event in an intimate and immersive way.

To ensure good visibility and avoid overcrowding, the organizers recommend that attendees spread out along the section of the promenade closest to their neighborhood. From 7:00 p.m. onwards, the necessary materials, such as balloons and fairy lights, can be collected from the tents set up on the central sidewalk of Passeig Verdaguer. In addition, several shops along the promenade will be selling these materials in advance starting at 5:00 p.m., making it easier for everyone to arrive well-prepared for the show.

However, the festivities begin even earlier, with the neighborhoods of Igualada getting involved and many residents' associations organizing pre-parade hot chocolate events where fairy lights and balloons will also be distributed. Poble Sec, Les Comes II, Fàtima, Set Camins, Les Flors, and Sant Crist are just some of the neighborhoods that will fill the streets with a festive atmosphere before everyone heads off together for their designated section of the parade route.

With lights, music, storytelling and active public participation, the Magic Forest of Igualada promises to once again be an exciting and imaginative start to Christmas.
