Hostalric 1810: Historical recreation camp
For a weekend, the picturesque Hostalric Castle is transformed into an authentic Napoleonic encampment, recreating the siege of 1810. Historical groups from several countries bring everyday camp scenes to life: military training, shooting practice, weapons maintenance, clothing, siege cooking... all faithfully and in detail.
The visits offer two modalities:
- Self-guided, to explore both the camp and the castle at your own pace.
- Guided, to better understand the strategy and historical details (advance booking recommended).
There will also be a free theatrical performance of the " Battle of the Fortress " in the castle moat, a dramatic reproduction that will transport you to the epicenter of the French War.
An experience with memory, pedagogy, and dramatization in a place steeped in medieval and modern history.
