Trepat Museum of Tàrrega - J. Trepat Factory

The emblematic J. Trepat Factory in Tàrrega is a valuable testimony of the mechanization of the countryside during the 20th century. A visitable space where the first agricultural sifting, scything, and ligating machines were designed, manufactured and marketed, responsible for the profound economic transformation thanks to being innovative technological elements that revolutionized agriculture.

A factory preserved as a space intact over time that is open to visitors through guided tours.

A journey that allows us to delve into the memory of those who worked there when it was a leading industry and also of those who witnessed the entire transformation process that that technology would bring to our lands. As through mechanical innovation, traditional social models would also be influenced towards industrial modernity in a rural context such as Tàrrega would experience in the 20th century.

Currently the Trepat factory is a Museum but it is often also a contemporary setting for cultural creativity, as a privileged environment open to filming, presentations and competitions that can be requested by email: informacio@museutrepat.cat. Or at the end of May with the Embarrat contemporary creation festival.

The Trepat Museum is located in the Science and Technology Museum System of Catalonia and is also part of the European Industrial Tourism Route (ERIH).

Schedule:
Without prior reservation: guided visits every Sunday at 12 noon.
For other times, reservations are required.
