Exploring the Costa Brava aboard a chartered boat has never been so easy

Exploring the Costa Brava aboard a chartered boat has never been so easy

Without a doubt, the beauty of the Costa Brava coastline is one of the most important tourist attractions in the area and being able to appreciate it from the sea is one of the ways that will allow you to enjoy it more intensely.

Along the entire coast, from north to south, you will find a multitude of incredible landscapes, although there are some particularly popular points that are mandatory stops.

If you want the freedom to quietly enjoy coves and small coastal corners that are only accessible from the sea, be able to bathe or snorkel in secluded coves and enjoy the good company of your friends or family next to the sea breeze and the gentle rocking of the waves… We propose the perfect plan: renting a boat on the Costa Brava!

Where do I rent a boat to navigate the Costa Brava?

Easy: Filovent. It is one of the agencies with the most experience in the sector, with the largest catalog of professional charter boats in Europe and with more than 18,000 boats on the list. Sailboats, catamarans and motor boats, with the possibility of hiring them with or without a skipper depending on the navigation experience that is being sought.

Any of these options, adapted to your tastes and needs, will be valid for a dream experience on the Costa Brava with the freedom that living the sea provides firsthand.

What to visit from the sea?

It is clear that if we lived on an eternal vacation we would travel the 214 km of coastline that the Costa Brava has from north to south without leaving us a cove or a rock to visit, but since reality is different, we leave you with some highlights that you will not you can lose in your adventure of a week or 10 days on board a boat:

Calella de Palafrugell is the first obligatory visit on this maritime tour that we propose. A fishing village, with white houses and countless colored details, narrow streets and vaulted arches, fishermen's boats and their nets in the sun... If you plan to go in summer make sure you have a privileged view from the water to see the famous music festival of the town, the Cantada de Habaneras.

Heading north, we find Estartit, where you cannot miss the Illes Medes, declared a protected natural reserve. This small archipelago, located just one mile from the coast, is one of the most important marine reserves in the Mediterranean due to the wealth of flora and fauna and the immense diversity of its ecosystem. You will be able to enjoy a beautiful walk on the water, enter magical caves, swim in the crystalline waters and if you are lucky, bathe with some curious fish.

We arrive at Alt Empordà making a stop in L'Escala, throughout the municipality we find different beaches and coves, such as Les Muscleres, Illa Mateua or Cala Montgó, and the jewel in the crown: the ruins of the ancient Greco-Roman city of Empúries. As a curiosity, from this municipality it is the only one where you can appreciate the Pyrenees navigating its beaches, depending on the time of year you visit it you will be able to see the imposing Canigó supported by the beach of Sant Martí de Empúries.

We will continue our route through Empuriabrava, in the Gulf of Roses, it stands out for being an urbanization next to the sea created in the mid-'60s with a structure called "marina" and made up of houses built next to a system of canals and with access to a private pier. It is almost a little Venice and this is its charm!

Very close, we will arrive at Roses where you will discover the most beautiful coves in the area such as: Montjoi, Almadrva, Pelosa or Jòncols, as well as the spectacular Cabo Norfeu with the Tamariu and El Gato cave (rock named after its shape).

To finish the route over the sea, you cannot miss what is considered by many to be the pearl of the Costa Brava, Cadaqués. Beyond Dalí and his immense cultural heritage with which the town is marked, we will find ourselves in our visit from the water, a beautiful abrupt and steep landscape, with the beautiful view of the white town. We will surround the coast of the Cap de Creus Natural Park full of corners and coves inaccessible by land. We are sure that everything your eyes see will not leave you indifferent...

Now you have a mini-guide to navigate the Costa Brava, you only need to visit the Filovent website and choose the boat that best suits your needs.
