EXPOCÍTRIC Alcanar - European Citrus Capital

Alcanar will become the nerve center of European citrus farming with the celebration of EXPOCÍTRIC, a new trade fair that aims to showcase the tradition, innovation, and sustainability of the region's citrus sector. Organized by the Alcanar Town Council, in collaboration with Grup Àpat and SUD Gastronòmic, the event will bring together 35 exhibitors related to the agri-food and gastronomic world, offering visitors an experience full of flavor, technology, and a great atmosphere.

The Alcanar Civic Center will host a wide array of locally sourced products: jams, juices, oils, wines, honey, eggs, cheeses, cured meats, pastries, and cakes, as well as the iconic rice from the Ebro Delta. In addition, agricultural machinery, new technologies applied to agriculture, and specialized nurseries will be on display, showcasing the diversity and vitality of a sector that combines tradition and future.

One of the main attractions of the fair will be the six live cooking sessions with renowned chefs, three of them Michelin-starred: Aitor López (Citrus del Tancat, Alcanar), Jeroni Castell (Les Moles, Ulldecona), and Vicent Guimerà (El Antic Molí, Ulldecona). They will be joined by Carme Guillemot, Albert Guzmán, and Aida Reverté, who will offer culinary demonstrations featuring citrus fruits.

EXPOCÍTRIC will be much more than an agricultural fair. The venue will feature a tasting area where attendees can sample products made by exhibitors, a children's area with activities and workshops related to the world of citrus fruits, and live music on Saturday night by a local band, creating a true celebration for all ages.

The celebration coincides with the 31st Clementine Gastronomic Festival, which will take place from November 14th to December 14th. Four restaurants in the municipality—Can Manel, La Marinada, La Costa, and Las Palmeras—will offer special menus dedicated to the clementine, reaffirming the importance of this fruit as a symbol of Canareva's identity.

With EXPOCÍTRIC, Alcanar reaffirms its vocation as a European benchmark for citrus fruits, highlighting the work of local producers, the gastronomic richness and the commitment to sustainability and innovation in the sector.
