La Pasión is Catalan Popular Culture and one of the oldest theatrical traditions in all of Europe.

The beginnings of the cultural tradition date back to the year 1477, from which we have the first historical reference to the birth of the tradition in Catalonia, thus becoming the oldest representation of the Passion of Christ.

A tradition recognized as cultural heritage of our country.

The Catalan Federation of Passions was established in 2015 with the essential will to make possible the maintenance of this Catalan cultural and popular tradition, which is already part of the history of Catalonia, with representations of the Passion documented as far back as the 15th century.

It is also worth noting the great task that the different Passions carry out in education in values that are so important in the society in which we live, in which entities are needed that act as integrating elements and global education.

There are currently 17 passiones from Catalonia that are members of the Federation: La Passió de Castellvell, La Passió de Cervera, La Passió de Constantí, La Passió d'Esparreguera, La Passió de La Cava, La Passió de La Pobla de Mafumet, Via Crucis Vivent de l'Escala, Come to me. The Passió de Llinars del vallès, The Passió Últims dies de Jesús de Mataró, The Passió d'Olesa de Montserrat, The Passió de Sant Climent Sescebes, Autosacramental de Sant Vicenç dels Horts, The Passió de Vilalba dels Arcs, Hacel Qui Dóna Testimoni de Vilanova i la Geltrú, La Passió de Vila-Sacra and Crist ha mort per nosaltres de Vilassar de Mar.
