Tarragona Carnival 2024

Satire, pen, tradition and much more join the Tarragona Carnival!

The Carnival fills the streets with colors and music for a week to celebrate the great festival of the king of debauchery. The strong point is the great parade on Saturday: the Crafts Parade, without missing the concerts and the tasting of the typical egg sausage. Also worth highlighting is the "Carnestoltes" trial and the burning of the Boot.

The Tarragona Carnival comes to the city once again through a program full of tradition and debauchery. The population of Tarragona is the driving force behind this popular festival, which has the participation of a large number of people who work almost all year round in its organization.

Everyone does Carnival, young and old, people who make classic events possible, but also more recent ones that have become essential for citizens. A great work that we encourage you to experience firsthand, either as participants or as an audience.

Enjoy all the events! Some with more experience, such as "la Disfressa d'Or" - which has become one of the essentials of Carnival -, "Bastiment" de la Bota, "coques de llardons" and the egg sausage from Jueves Lardero, the Rúa del 'Artesanía and the Rúa de Lucimiento, the vigil of the King and the Concubine or the Burial; and others with not as much history but no less essential: the Farra dels Ninots, the Bajada del Pajaritu or the Drag Queens Contest.

Be that as it may, before the arrival of Lent, leave your sorrows at home, go out as if it were the last time and have a good Carnival!
