A high-altitude day between Catalonia and France, reaching four legendary peaks!
Do you dare to take on one of the most spectacular challenges in the Pyrenees? The 8Treks team offers you a unique experience: climb four peaks over 3,000 meters in a single day within the majestic Alt Pirineu and Ariège Natural Park.
We'll summit the legendary Pica d'Estats (3,144 m) —the highest peak in Catalonia— Pic Verdaguer (3,129 m), Montcalm (3,077 m), and Sotllo (3,073 m). A challenging but unforgettable route that will take us through high-mountain landscapes of breathtaking beauty, among glacial lakes, rocky ridges, and endless views.

- Date: Saturday, July 19, 2025.
- Start and finish: Molinassa parking lot.
- Route: Vallferrera Refuge - Pica d'Estats - Verdaguer - Montcalm - Sotllo - return to Molinassa.
- Total distance: 23 km.
- Cumulative elevation: +2,000 m/-2,000 m.
- Estimated duration: From 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

An adventure for mountaineers eager to excel.
This route is for people in very good physical condition and with prior experience in high mountains. We maintain a steady pace of about 4 km/h and 400 m of elevation gain per hour, with sections of climbing and descent where concentration and safety are essential.

Essential material
- Clothing: Hiking boots or trail shoes, 3-layer technical clothing (raincoat, fleece, and breathable t-shirt), Primaloft, gloves, hat, 30L backpack with rain cover.
- Sun protection: Sunglasses, sunscreen, UV-filtering lipstick, and a hat.
- Security: Headlamp with spare batteries, personal first aid kit, mobile phone with charged battery.
- Food and hydration: We recommend bringing 1.5 liters of water, a sandwich, fruit, nuts, energy bars, and a serving of chocolate.
- Recommended: Telescopic poles and do not exceed 10% of your body weight as a load in your backpack.
