Gymkana Digital Turística Barcelona
The Digital Tourism Gymkhana is an innovative initiative that invites visitors to discover Barcelona and other towns across Catalonia through interactive and entertaining routes. These digital gymkhanas are designed to promote sustainable and decentralized tourism, bringing cultural and historical heritage closer to visitors and residents in a fun and educational way.
Discover Barcelona through digital gymkhanas
Digital gymkhanas offer cultural and tourist routes in a game format, completely free of charge and with no need to download any app. Simply scan a QR code with your mobile phone or access the official website. The routes are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can be completed in several languages, including Catalan, Spanish, French, and English.
In Barcelona, gymkhanas have been implemented in several neighbourhoods, including Bon Pastor, Hostafrancs, Sant Genís dels Agudells, La Guineueta, Les Corts, Sant Martí de Provençals, and the Dreta de l'Eixample. Each route lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes and covers about 1.5 kilometres, with up to 14 riddles to solve.
An experience for all ages
Digital gymkhanas are designed for a wide audience, from families with children to groups of friends or individual travellers. Combining play and learning, they allow participants to explore the history and heritage of Barcelona's neighbourhoods in an engaging and interactive way. Moreover, these routes encourage active participation and the discovery of lesser-known areas of the city.
How to participate
To take part in a digital gymkhana, you only need a mobile device with an internet connection. QR codes giving access to the routes can be found in strategic locations within the participating neighbourhoods, such as tourist offices, local shops, or municipal notice boards. You can also access them directly through the official website: www.gymkanaturistica.com.
