The Corrida of Puig-reig

From 17/01/2025 to 19/01/2025
Puig-reig

The Puig-reig Corrida is a traditional festival that has been celebrated every year for Sant Antoni in Puig-reig for more than 150 years.

The Bullfight is a traditional festival linked to the world of horses, carts, artisan sausages and processed pork products. As also happens in many other Catalan towns, the festival originates around the figure of Sant Antoni Abad as the patron saint of domestic animals (originally round-footed animals) and muleteers.

After the 3 rockets and the fireworks, the party begins with a good country breakfast. Guest muleteers, horsemen, horsemen, farmers and townspeople gather around the embers to enjoy a breakfast with local products.

After breakfast, the parade begins, presided over by the flag bearers. In the afternoon, horse, donkey and pony races take place, which are precisely the element that gives its name to the festival.
