Festival of Sant Antoni de Alcanar
The Sant Antoni Festival in Alcanar is back for another year! A party organized by the Sant Antoni Commission with the support of the Alcanar City Council.
The Sant Antoni de Alcanar Festival is registered in the Catalog of the Festive Heritage of Catalonia, a recognition that highlights the intangible heritage of Alcanar and the work well done by the Sant Antoni Commission. This celebration has more than 100 years of history and is in very good health.
The Festival is centenary and more and more people from the town participate. The most differentiating element of the Festival is the shawl dance, adults and children dress up in the typical "caraneva" clothing and dance to the rhythm of jota.
