Puig-reig Festival

Puig-reig will live its Major Festival from May 24 to 29. As always, the activities program wants to make young and old enjoy with various proposals from concerts, recreational activities, children's shows, sports and cultural events.

One of the main novelties of this year is that almost one hundred percent of the acts will be free. The Councilor for Fiestas, Cristian Pérez, explained that this 2023 has achieved one of the objectives already set four years ago to meet one of the demands of the residents of Puig-reig, and above all, the group of young people. "We would have wanted to get the acts totally free before, but with the pandemic involved and the difficulties of recovering cultural activity, it has not allowed us," he explained.

In any case, this year you will be able to enjoy all the proposals freely and without paying, including the concert on Friday and the concert-dance with La Principal de la Bisbal. Only the musical show "Arrelats" will be paid, a production of the Puig-reig City Council that already premiered in 2021 and that due to its large dimensions and format this year could not be free.

Another novelty is that Envelat 2.0 becomes, even more, the nerve center of the Festival. Practically all the musical proposals and performances will take place in this space in Plaza Nova, which in recent years has taken center stage and concentrates all its programming. This year, even, the concert on Friday night will be held at this location and the only two activities that will continue in the pavilion are the Arrelats show and the concert-dance with La Principal de la Bisbal.

Apart from the habaneras, the grilled dinner, the vermouth-concert, exhibitions, activities in the library, the bikini, an escape room, the proclamation with a prominent group from the town or the sardanas, this year one of the novelties will take place in the new Puig-reig equipment with the first edition of the Crono Pump Track with the aim of energizing this space and making it a point of activity with proposals organized throughout the year. It will be on Saturday 27 at 5 pm.

As for popular culture, this year the Diablos del Clot del Infierno will once again tour the streets of the municipality. It will be on Friday night, first with the children's version of the group and then with the usual correfoc. On the other hand, there will also be a performance by the Castellers de Berga, accompanied by the Colla Castellera Jove de Barcelona and with the organization of a children's workshop for boys and girls from 5 to 13 years old.

The Councilor for Fiestas, Cristian Pérez, wanted to highlight the work of all the people who make up the festival commission and wanted to thank the entities and groups that collaborate and are involved in the Festival to achieve a "rich, varied and of quality" that he expects "to be shared by all".
