International Museum Day in Balaguer
Balaguer's museums are joining in for another year of Museum Night and International Museum Day!
International Museum Day (IMD), celebrated every May 18 since 1977, aims to raise public awareness of the importance of museums as an important medium for cultural exchange, for the enrichment of cultures and for the advancement of understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.
The most attractive and popular events of the DIM are the free Open Days offered by museums to their visitors, as well as, above all, the celebration of Museum Night, an initiative of the Council of Europe during which several museums across the country open their doors beyond their usual opening hours and past midnight with an extensive program of activities.
