La Canonja
Very close to Tarragona and located in an area surrounded by industrial estates, Canonja is an oasis where you can find a town that has managed to maintain its identity despite its proximity to the provincial capital. In fact, the defense of its autonomy was a historic struggle for Canonja, which for almost fifty years lost the category of municipality to be integrated into Tarragona. However, since 2010 it has regained this independence. In terms of heritage, the Masricart castle, the church of San Sebastián and the site of the Boella ravine stand out, with prehistoric remains of great value.
