Musical Autumn in Mont-ral - Farena

"In autumn, neither cold nor hot, and in Mont-ral and Farena... music and passion!"

This is the spirit that inspires the 4th edition of the Musical Autumn in Mont-ral and Farena, a cycle that unites music, heritage and nature in an incomparable setting, in the heart of the Prades mountains.

When the forests are covered in warm tones and the autumn light transforms the landscape, the churches of Sant Pere Ad Vincula de Mont-ral and Sant Andreu de Farena become prime settings for chamber music. The festival is an opportunity to experience quality cultural experiences while enjoying the authentic charm of these villages.

Programming

• On October 11th, the Oreka Reed Quintet from Donostia-San Sebastián will open the series at the Sant Pere Ad Vincula Church in Mont-ral. This reed quintet (oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bass clarinet, and bassoon) will offer a programmatic concert featuring some of the most well-known classical music. Each piece will be accompanied by a story, making the evening a participatory, emotional experience, ideal for enjoying with the family. A fresh, accessible, and informative way to bring classical music closer to all audiences.
• On October 25th, Missim Duo, from Belgium, will perform at the Church of Sant Andreu de Farena. The duo, composed of viola da gamba and lute/Baroque guitar, will offer an intimate and evocative concert, where Renaissance works intertwine with popular Catalan songs and melodies. An experience that bridges the gap between eras and cultures, full of delicacy and timeless beauty, and follows in the footsteps of last year's concert dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the County of Prades.
• On November 15th, once again at the Church of Sant Pere Ad Vincula in Mont-ral, the series will be closed by the Re-Corda Ensemble, a Barcelona-based trio formed by the Liceu Conservatory and consisting of two guitars and percussion. Specializing in Latin American repertoire, they offer a vibrant journey through the music of composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Eduardo Martín, Edín Solís, and Rey Guerra. The guitar also becomes a percussion instrument, enriched with the power and colors of Afro-Cuban percussion. A performance full of rhythm, energy, and modernity that will take the audience on a journey from the first note to the last.

The initiative not only brings high-quality music to rural spaces, but also highlights the value of heritage and fosters cultural coexistence. Attendees will enjoy an intimate experience, surrounded by the natural and architectural beauty of Mont-ral and Farena, two places that preserve the essence of the mountains and the hospitality of their residents.
