Forma Singular in Balaguer

The second edition of Forma Singular will be held in Balaguer on October 10, 11, and 12, 2025. This will feature a single artistic proposal that follows the conceptualization developed in the last edition of Forma. Contemporary Art Spaces, and will be held in a single space in the city.

Forma Singular is presented as a small-scale initiative, focused on a single artistic proposal that will follow the conceptual line developed in the last edition of Forma. Espacios de Arte Contemporáneo and will take place in a single space in the city. For this reason, the 2025 project will revolve around the theme "Balaguer, City of Memory," and will promote an artistic proposal in collaboration with one of the creators or collectives that have already participated in previous editions.

Within this framework, the creation of a work is proposed that establishes a dialogue with the permanent collection of the Museo de la Noguera, specifically in the room dedicated to the Pla de Almatà. This is considered an opportune moment to offer a contemporary perspective on this site, addressing the complexity of its historical interpretation, the difficulties in its research, and the fact that it has been, in a sense, a hidden, silenced, or buried space.

The relevance of the Pla de Almatà in the history of Catalonia is indisputable. The desire to recover and reclaim an often-hidden past, as well as its continued defense by the citizens of Balaguer, make this project a proposal that crosses the city in a transversal way. Therefore, approaching this reflection through contemporary art can become a turning point in museum discourse. Thus, Forma Balaguer proposes a reinterpretation of the museum's archaeological collection, incorporating the languages and strategies of contemporary art.
