Round Path to Salou

Round Path to Salou

The Camino de Ronda is a 9 km path that runs along the coast from the Paseo Miramar area (Plaza Venus) to the Far de Salou, located in Cap Salou.

The different panoramic views that can be discovered along the way allow you to get to know the Cap Salou area in a very different way. Let us begin!

Historically, the paths of Ronda followed the coastline and were used for surveillance of the coast or fishermen. The recovery of this route returns the possibility of walking along the coast through points where it had been impossible to do so for many years.

The walk along the Camino de Ronda discovers the great natural and landscape wealth of the area. Apart from the different panoramic views that can be discovered along the way, the path runs through beaches and coves while becoming a very different way of discovering the Cap Salou area.

From Pilons, the path heads south and passes Capellans beach, where you can see the remains of the old Llatzeret, built in 1829. The route continues through Llenguadets cove, from where you can see the bunkers built during the Civil war. The last section corresponds to the Llarga beach, a natural environment and already far from the tourist area.

Although the path reaches a maximum height of 77 meters above sea level, with sections that are slightly difficult, most of it is practicable for everyone.

Cap Salou reveals yet another possibility. Due to its location, it is a place of interest for observing seabirds that are difficult to see from the beach. Thus, with the help of telescopes and other types of optical instruments, it is possible to observe shearwaters, parasites, gannets, puffins, gavots, calabrians, storm birds and sea ducks, such as the black duck or the dusky duck.

Various species of gulls can also be seen, among which the Audouin's gull is relatively abundant and easy to see in spring and autumn.
