One more year in Serrateix and in Viver the Caramelles are celebrated for Easter!
Singing of the caramelles and dancing of rattles in the Plaza de Viver, with the usual tour of each house.
Caramelles are a popular tradition in Catalonia that takes place during Holy Week and consists of singing religious songs around the houses or in the streets.
The lyrics of the songs are usually religious-themed, and are intended to recall the salient events of Holy Week, such as the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a tradition that is passed from father to son and attracts a significant number of visitors.
