Major Festival of Castell del Remei

On Sunday, October 12, the traditional Castell del Remei Festival will be held. This year, the lineup includes an excerpt from the work Gotim Bru by the recently deceased painter Joaquín Ureña from Lleida. The main event will be a concert by the musical group Jambolainers. As is customary, children are invited to dress in traditional Catalan attire.

As in every edition, the sound of the estate's historic siren will kick off the celebration at 10 a.m., as part of the Cultural Heritage program of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

From that moment on, the craft and local products market will open, the exhibition and piloting of model cars and ship models, popular games and activities for children The Castell del Remei fairs with a bouncy castle, the bar terraces, the wine tastings from the Tomàs Cusiné wineries –Castell del Remei, Tomàs Cusiné, Cérvoles and Cara Nord–, and the art exhibitions, among which the photography Sobirà·Sobiranes by Carles Gené Sió stands out, and the unpublished retrospective exhibition Inside the atelier of Víctor Pérez-Pallarès, produced by the Pérez-Pallarès Foundation.

At 10:30 a.m., the opening speech for the Festival will take place from the balcony of the palace's courtyard, led by Ramon Solsona Vila, general secretary of the Lleida Hospitality Federation.

The bells will then announce the start of the solemn mass, at 11 a.m., sung by the Castellserà Parish Choir, in the sanctuary of the Virgen del Remei, with the presence of the pubilla and the heir of Penelles, and the songs of the Prayer to the Virgen del Remei.

In parallel, the children's show Lo Biel, a clown, will begin, which will continue with a balloon twisting workshop.

At 12 noon, the parade around the palace-house with the Colla Gegantera and Grallera de Balaguer, accompanied by the Bombollers de Cervera, will give way to the Cobla Tàrrega to begin the dancing and listening to sardanas in the Plaza Canal d'Urgell.

And at 12:30 p.m., in the Plaza Mayor – where you can already enjoy aperitifs from early on – the musical group Jambolainers will begin their concert.

Also starting at that time, you can participate in the outdoor community meal, for which you must purchase tickets in advance or during the morning of the party at the estate's restaurant.

Finally, at 2:30 p.m., the sound of the siren will mark the closing of this year's big party.
