International Clown Festival in Sant Esteve de Palautordera

From 02/10/2025 to 05/10/2025
Sant Esteve de Palautordera

The International Clown Festival, organized by Circ Cric and the Sant Esteve de Palautordera City Council, is celebrating its second edition. The festival has become an international benchmark, designed as an annual meeting for exchange and reflection for women who have chosen clowning as a lifestyle. Its mission is to promote comedy from a female perspective.

Festival Objectives

The festival seeks to be a platform for women clowns, asserting their role in society. Through the performing arts, these women use comedy to promote values such as equality, justice, and common sense. Laughter is presented as an essential tool for coexistence, generating tolerance and harmony in a society where, until recently, women were limited in their ability to appear on stage and make others laugh.

Some of the main objectives of the festival are:

  • Create a meeting space for clowns where they can share concerns and experiences.
  • Increase the visibility of clowns and encourage new generations to follow this path.
  • Promoting equality between men and women through comedy.
  • To offer training, debate, and reflection on female comedy.
  • Support cultural creation as a social good and a tool for transformation.

Activities and Programming

The International Clown Festival includes a varied program of high-quality artistic performances, featuring international artists. Each year, the festival presents a benchmark in the world of clowns, accommodating both professional and new artists. The performances will take place both in the village of Sant Esteve de Palautordera and at the Circ Cric, with performances for all ages and at various times.

Attendees will be able to enjoy a range of offerings including:

  • Street performances.
  • Fairs and cabarets.
  • Performances in theaters and circuses.

The International Clown Festival is not only a celebration of comedy, but also an opportunity for women to connect, collaborate, and create a positive impact on society through humor. Its importance lies in its ability to transform perspectives and promote equality in the entertainment world.
