Solsona Major Festival
The Solsona Festival is one of the oldest and at the same time with the most tradition of all the major festivals that are currently celebrated throughout the country. This rich and secular festive heritage goes back through time, at least since the 14th century.
Today the Festival Main maintains the same scenic spaces as those of the 17th century, despite the difference in the volume of citizens, in 1690 there were 3,150 inhabitants in Solsona, while currently 8,700 people live there.
The central days are September 8 and 9 when the giants, the dwarfs, the horses, the eagle and the dragon, among others, come out to show off their finery.
In 2008, the Solsona Festival obtained recognition as a heritage festival of national interest.
