Cross the gate of heaven with Sea & Mountain Experiences

Dates: from July 20 to 24.

The greatest attraction of this route is to reach the 3,143m high Pica d'Estats, the highest peak in all of Catalonia. This journey consists of 5 stages, where you will walk between the Catalan and French Pyrenees.

The Gate of Heaven will also take us to the peaks of Certascan, La Pointe Recou, La Roca Cigalera among others, and some of the magnificent lakes of glacial origin where the sky is reflected, such as Lake Certascan, which is one of the largest. and deep in the Pyrenean mountains.

It is a notable route due to its rough and demanding terrain, which is why it is recommended for well-trained people in good physical condition. It consists of 64km and 5,500m of positive accumulated difference in its entirety. The minimum daily distance is 13km and the average positive cumulative elevation gain is 1,100m per day.

Day 1

Meeting in Tavascan with the guide. Presentation and review of material.
Tavascan (1,116m) – Bordes de Graus (1,360m).

Dinner and overnight at the Bords de Graus refuge

Day 2
Bordes de Graus (1,360m) – Certescan Peak (2,852m) – Certascan Refuge (2,240m).
Distance: 12.5 km | Elevation gain: +1,500m/-620m | Effective time: 6:30 a.m.
Dinner and overnight at the Certascan refuge

Day 3
Certascan Refuge (2,240m) – Pinet Refuge (2,240m).
Distance: 13.3 km | Elevation gain: +1,350m/-1,350m | Effective time: 7:45h

Day 4
Refuge of Pinet (2,240m) – Pica de Estados (3,143m) – Refuge of Vallferrera (1,940m).
