Carros de Foc Crossing

Dates: from August 24 to 28.

High mountain circular route that links the 9 refuges of the Aigüestortes National Park and Lake Sant Maurici, Pallars, Alta Ribagorça and Vall d'Aran, enjoying one of the most beautiful places in the area and is a must-see place for experienced mountaineers and nature lovers. Granite blocks, quarries and steeply sloping paths that cover a cumulative slope of 4,200 m and a distance of 72 km.

Experience that includes 5 stages in 5 days and 4 nights, classified as medium as long as you are accustomed to walking in the mountains and are in good physical condition.

Day 1:
Meeting at the Cavallers dam with the guide. Presentation and review of material
Estany de Cavallers (1,800 m) – Refugio Ventosa y Calvell (2,200 m) – Refugio Colomers (2,135 m)
Distance: 12 km | Elevation: +750m/-550m | Estimated time: 6 – 8h

Day 2:
Colomers Refuge (2,135m) – Saboredo Refuge (2,299m) – d'Amitges Refuge (2,378 m)
Distance: 12.3 km | Elevation: +820m/-400 m | Estimated time: 6 – 7h

Day 3:
Refugio d'Amitges (2,378 m) – Refugio JMBlanc (2,326 m)
Distance: 14.5 km | Elevation: +950m/-920m | Estimated time: 6 – 7h

Day 4:
JMBlanc Refuge (2,326m) – Estany Llong Refuge (1,985m)
Distance: 18 km | Elevation: +800m/-1.00m | Estimated time: 7 – 8h

Day 5:
Estany Llong Refuge (1,985m) – Estany de Cavallers (1,800m)
Distance: 14.5 km | Elevation: +900m/-1,200m | Estimated time: 7 – 8h

Option B: If the weather is not good or any participant in the group is tired or does not see it clear to complete this last day, they will be able to comfortably descend along a well-marked path until reaching a place where they can get off by bus, ending the trekking.
