Exhibitions at the Barcelona Design Museum (DHub)
The Barcelona Design Museum, located in the Barcelona Design Hub (DHub), offers four permanent exhibitions that offer a broad and engaging look at the world of design, designed for all audiences.
Its permanent exhibitions combine past, present, and future to show how design has influenced our lives throughout history. From historical fashion and textiles to graphic design, everyday objects, and furniture, the Museum's collections provide an understanding of the impact of design on culture and society.
The four exhibitions you can visit:
- From the world to the museum. Product design, cultural heritage.
A review of iconic everyday objects from our country's industrial design, from the 20th century to the present day. - Matter Matters. Designing with the world.
On the second floor, a collection of 709 pieces and other contemporary creations are on display. The aim is to reflect on the relationship between materials, resource scarcity, climate change, and carbon neutrality by 2050, in an approach that combines ecology, geopolitics, and design. - The Clothed Body: Silhouettes and Fashion (1550–2015).
It shows how fashion and dress forms have evolved over the centuries, reflecting social and cultural transformations. - Do you design or work? The new visual communication (1980–2003).
It explores the creative boom of graphic design in Catalonia between the 1980s and early 2000s, with a committed and visually powerful narrative.
