La Pobla de Lillet

La Pobla de Lillet is a municipality located north of the Berguedà. La Pobla de Lillet is located in the Valley of Lillet, about 843m high and surrounded by the mountains of Cadi, the Moixerò, Catllaràs saw the Falgars, the range of Moreu, Bruc rocks and mountains Meranges and Tubau Planks.
In the municipality of La Pobla de Lillet find Artigas Gardens, designed by Antoni Gaudi in the early twentieth century as a thank you to the Artigas family to welcome him home when designing the Catllaràs Chalet.
The Artigas Gardens are a perfect union between nature and architecture in the midst of life in constant motion provided by the Llobregat River, which passes through the middle.
We also find the Old Bridge, the fourteenth century, among the people and as a landmark of the town across the river from one side to another. It is considered the oldest bridge crossing the river Llobregat.
In the religious field we find the Monastery of Santa Maria de Lillet, Romanesque and restored several times, most notable is the eighteenth century. It has a square cloister and, near it, with the chapel of San Miguel de Lillet. During the twentieth century this building has suffered numerous losses, beginning with the Civil War, and wear over the years, but retained much of its remains.
La Pobla de Lillet also features Falgàs Sanctuary which preserves an image carved in alabaster of the fifteenth century and the cave where the Virgin was found. Very near here, is the Mirador Joan Casanova, from where you will see fantastic views of Pedraforca and may initiate several hiking trails.
In the church of Santa Maria de Lillet La Pobla de Lillet see the Christ in Majesty from the twelfth century and painted wood. And, the old town with its narrow cobbled streets, let us record a medieval past ruled by the barony Mataplana installed in the Castle of La Pobla de Lillet. Currently, La Pobla de Lillet has recovered the old train station. So, now has a new attraction that leads to the Artigas Gardens and asland old cement factory is now the Museum of Cement.
