Terrazel in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons
Once again, Terrazel is back in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons!
Terrazel is a popular celebration of traditional origin that features a street theater performance. The critically charged play focuses on the danger posed by the constant pressure of human activity on the environment. It is the main event of the San Lorenzo de Hortons Festival (Alt Penedès) and is recognized as a Cultural Heritage site in the municipality. It is celebrated on August 10th, the day of San Lorenzo, the town's patron saint.
All the activities take place on August 10th in various locations throughout Sant Llorenç de Hortons. Highlights include the Entremeses Dances, both after the religious service at noon and in front of the Town Hall at night; the Calle de Foc on Calle Mayor; and the Terrazel Show, the centerpiece of the festival, in Plaza del Terrazel, which concludes with the Correfoc (fire run) through the town streets.
