Sota la Palmera Festival in Tarragona

The Sota la Palmera Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary with a vibrant and diverse cultural offering, open to all. This event, which has established itself as a summer cultural landmark for youth in Tarragona, offers up to 46 free activities at the Espai Jove La Palmera and various locations throughout the city. The festival's goal is to foster youth culture and promote the use of public spaces as a place for cultural interaction.

One of the festival's most notable features is its co-programming, which involves collaboration with young creators, collectives, and organizations from the region. New this year, the festival will run until August 9th, coinciding with the La Imagina events at Camp de Mart, where an artistic and activist evening will culminate an intense summer of music, expression, and critical culture.

Festival Program

The festival's programming follows a thematic structure that combines continuity and novelty:

• Tuesday: Margalló Cycle, featuring emerging art in unique spaces, including music and dance performances by young artists, in collaboration with art training organizations.
• Wednesday: Summer with Cooperation, a series promoted by the Ministry of Cooperation, which will feature FICAC films on feminism, migration, and postcolonial memory.
• Thursday: Theme Nights, one of the festival's most powerful axes, which this year is enriched with two new features: the Folk Night, with the Tarragona band That's All Folk, and the first K-Pop Night, with dance exhibitions and a concert by Risin'STAR, a boy band.
• Fridays and Saturdays: Live music with a variety of offerings, including names like Suu, Scorpio, Nakani Kante, and many others, who will combine established careers with emerging projects.

The Sota la Palmera Festival is possible thanks to the active involvement of more than a dozen organizations and groups, such as Komando Sound, Versembrant, Coopula, and the International Magic Theater Festival, among others. Thus, the Espai Jove La Palmera becomes a meeting point, a platform, and a shared stage for the community.
