Sant Pere Claver Festival in Verdú

The Verdú Festival, in honor of Sant Pere Claver, is one of the most emblematic events on the local festive calendar.

For several days, the municipality hosts a combination of religious, cultural, sporting, and recreational events that reinforce the community's identity and coexistence.

The program includes activities for all ages. Among the most dynamic offerings are paintball for young people, cultural events such as an urban drawing day with Urban Sketchers, and the opening of the exhibition "Forgotten Heritage, Literary Memory." Music plays a prominent role with concerts within the Poniente and Pyrenees Organ Festival, as well as afternoon and evening dances with guest groups.

Elements of popular culture also take center stage, with the Mulassa parade and the participation of the giant Pelagalls de Sidamon group, as well as the sardana dance in the Plaza Mayor, accompanied by the Cobla Tàrrega.

The central focus of the festival is the religious commemoration of Saint Peter Claver, with a solemn Mass, a procession of the relic, and the accompaniment of the parish's Heart of Men and Youth. A tribute is also paid to the community of Vedruna Carmelite Sisters with a special public recognition ceremony.

The program is rounded out with sporting activities such as the Villa de Verdú Soccer Cup, and moments of fellowship such as the communal dinner and the flag-raising at the Castle.

A festival that combines devotion, tradition, and modernity, making Verdú a meeting point full of meaning and vitality.
