Presentation of the book "Poesia Completa de Garcia", Vallfogona de Riucorb

The Vallfogona Spa Hotel in Riucorb will host the presentation of one of the most anticipated volumes dedicated to Francisco Vicent Garcia, Rector of Vallfogona, one of the most recognized and unique voices in Catalan Baroque literature. The event will be attended and hosted by Albert Rossich, a specialist in his work and responsible for the critical edition that forms part of the Barcino Library collection.

The book presented is the second volume of Garcia's Complete Poetry, dedicated to ballads and other poems, pieces that demonstrate the variety and richness of styles with which the author captivated readers and scholars throughout the centuries. His writing, full of contrasts between satirical humor, heartbreaking irony, and lyrical touches, has turned the Rector of Vallfogona into a true cultural myth, to the point that many more texts are attributed to him than he actually wrote.

The event, organized by the Vallfogona Master Year Commission, has the support of the Vallfogona de Riucorb City Council, Barcino Publishing House, and the Hotel Balneario itself. The presentation is part of the commemorative activities that highlight the importance of this author, who carved out a niche for himself in Catalan literary tradition and in the collective memory.

In addition to highlighting his work, the event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the work of Albert Rossich, a renowned scholar of early Catalan literature, who will explain the importance of this edition and the process of researching and revising the texts.

The presentation is therefore intended as a space for culture and dissemination, open to scholars, readers, and the general public, with the aim of breathing new life into a classic that continues to spark interest and excitement more than four centuries later.
