Guissona Chestnut Festival

The Plaza Mayor of Guissona will be filled with the aroma of roasted chestnuts and the glow of the festival for the Chestnut Festival, one of the municipality's most beloved and participatory traditions. The event, organized by Guissona City Council and the Guissona Giants' Group, will combine popular culture with music and conviviality for all audiences.

The festival will begin at 6 p.m. with the sale of chestnuts by the Colla Gegantera, which will fill the square with atmosphere and good humor. As night falls, the historic center will fill with music and color with the parade of the Tieta Castañera and the Cattusmeu, two emblematic figures of local culture who will parade through the streets of the town accompanied by the Ho Peta Street Band, a group that guarantees rhythm, energy, and celebration for everyone.

Young and old alike will enjoy a celebration rooted in Catalan tradition, where fire, chestnuts, and music come together to welcome autumn.

A date to share, laugh, and celebrate, which reminds us that in Guissona, the Castañada is much more than a tradition; it's a village festival with the flavor of chestnuts and the rhythm of the street.
