Sant Raimon festivities in Vilafranca del Penedès

Vilafranca del Penedès enters the month of January into the celebration of the Sant Raimon Festival!

Historically, since the 17th century, activities in honor of San Raimon were organized by brotherhoods and religious boards. However, in 1984 the festivities were recovered, promoted by a proposal from the Falcons of Vilafranca, and since then they have been managed by various local entities.

The main objective was to highlight the capacity and enthusiasm of local associations to promote and energize their own activities, which encompass the production and dissemination of local artistic creation (theater, music, dance, literature...) and other community proposals. local.

In 2017, given the possible disappearance of the festivities, the Raimons and Raimundes Cultural Group presented a project to revitalize them, maintaining the spirit of the entities and promoting local artists, while making changes to make them more accessible in all areas of the country. age. From 2018 to the present, this group is responsible for organizing the festivities, ensuring that they become a prominent element in the city's festive calendar.
