Catalonia Ethno Festival in Banyoles
Ethno Catalonia is an international folk festival and residency aimed at musicians (professional and amateur) from around the world with a passion for folk, traditional, and world music. The event offers the opportunity to collaborate, rehearse, and participate in a concert tour.
In addition to the international residency, Ethno Catalonia is also a festival of traditional, folk, and world music, with a week-long program of free, open concerts in the Plaça Major in Banyoles.
Ethno Catalonia will begin its ten-day musical journey on a campus located in the city of Banyoles (Pla de l'Estany), in the heart of its historic center. Over the five days, participants will delve into the world of folk and traditional music through collaborative, peer-to-peer learning among residents, while participating in local music and leisure activities.
The team of professional artistic mentors will lead daily workshops and rehearsals with the group to prepare the orchestra's final repertoire for its concert tour in various venues across Catalonia.
In addition, resident musicians will have the opportunity to perform at the festival in small-scale performances before embarking on their final concert tour as the EthnoOrchestra.
