On this occasion we propose this 4×4 route through Alta Garrotxa and Ripollès, a route for the whole family and suitable for all 4×4 vehicles, including SUVs. Difficult to get off. The Alta Garrotxa. It is a territory that, due to its diversity and uniqueness, is undoubtedly the most important space in the Eastern Pre-Pyrenees. Alta Garrotxa is a territory located between the regions of Ripollès, Garrotxa and Alt Empordà.

Its extremely abrupt orography has conditioned the landscape, vegetation, fauna and human settlements throughout its history and has allowed the maintenance of a relatively isolated natural space that preserves important biological wealth, to the point of?having been declared Area of Natural Interest and designated as a Special Protection Area for Birds within the Natura 2000 Network.

The relief of the Alta Garrotxa, marked by deep valleys surrounded by cliffs and rock walls, is what gives its name to the space: the garrochas are the "rough and bad going" lands. The landscape of Alta Garrotxa is truly spectacular, not only for the magnificence of the relief, but also for the forest cover, dominated by holm oak and oak groves.
