Presentation of the book "El sepulcre oblidat" by Josep Tort i Miralles
Presentation of the book "El sepulcre oblidat" (The Forsaken Grave) by Josep Tort i Miralles, a Penedès native. The presentation will be held at the Jaume Vila and Pascual de Gelida Library, located at 51 Carrer Major, by the author of the book. This will be an opportunity to talk with the author about his work and the history of the Penedès. The book's synopsis is as follows:
A discovery made during excavations at the San Sebastián de les Gorgs monastery grounds, prior to restoration work, has sparked the curiosity of everyone involved. It could provide insights into the history of the Catalan counties between the 10th and 11th centuries.
At the same time, in the 11th century, Ermengarda of Barcelona, mother of Mir Geribert, promoted the creation of a monastery in the Penedès, an ecclesiastical and cultural centre designed to give substance to a new territory.
Games of intrigue, betrayal, and deceit, pirate attacks, family envy... A turbulent time that will challenge the power of the county in the face of a nobility that covets more power, more rights, and more privileges.
A two-speed novel that aims to be a tribute to the monumental monastic complex of San Sebastián de los Gorgs.
