Guided tour: Carlinadas in Igualada. The imprint of the Carlist Wars
Although Igualada is not, from the outset, one of the towns most associated with Carlism—and it's true that Carlists were present, but not in the majority—the city plays a fundamental role in understanding the development of these conflicts. From the fortification strategy during the Seven Years' War to the arrival of the early risers and the actions of the Carlist Zouaves, Igualada becomes a key setting for interpreting the three Carlinadas in Catalonia.
On this guided tour, we'll explore the main sites that played a leading role and discover how the capital of Anoia experienced—and suffered—the wars that marked the 19th century.
