Festival of San Juan in Saldes
Saldes celebrates the most magical night of the year with the traditional bonfire and activities for all ages!
It is one of the most important and popular festivities in the municipality, and is full of rituals, fireworks and music.
The holiday has its roots in ancient pagan celebrations in honor of the summer solstice, which marked the longest day of the year. Over the centuries, it merged with Christian traditions and was associated with Saint John the Baptist.
The bonfires of San Juan symbolize purification and renewal, and are believed to have the power to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck.
