New temporary exhibition at the Picasso Center in Gósol
New temporary exhibition: Fernande Olivier: the woman who accompanied Picasso to Gósol
📅 From July 19 to December 14, 2024
📍 Picasso Center of Gósol.
🖼️ Opening: July 19 at 5 p.m.
The Picasso Centre in Gósol presents a new temporary exhibition dedicated to Fernande Olivier, a figure often relegated to the background in art history, known primarily for her relationship with Pablo Picasso.
Titled Fernande Olivier: The Woman Who Accompanied Picasso to Gósol, the exhibition offers a deeper, more nuanced look at who Fernande really was: a model, artist, writer, and a woman with a voice of her own. During her stay in Gósol in 1906, Fernande shared one of Picasso's most intense periods of creative transformation with him, but her presence and role go far beyond artistic inspiration.
The exhibition, curated by Malén Gual, shows documents, photographs, testimonies and materials that help reconstruct her profile beyond the myth, bringing us closer to her life and her environment with respect and sensitivity.
An opportunity to get to know Fernande Olivier for herself, beyond her connection with Picasso.
We look forward to seeing you at the Picasso Center in Gósol to discover this new exhibition.
