The Passion of Sant Climent Sescebes

The Passion of Sant Climent Sescebes has two characteristics that make it different from any other Passion. The place where it is performed, l'Horta d'en Cusí, is a natural outdoor space that gives it a realism and credibility that cannot be found in any conventional setting; and its own text that is modified every year.

On Good Friday in 1976, the Passion of Sant Climent was performed for the first time, and since then it has been performed continuously every Holy Week until today.

The text of the Passion of Sant Climent Sescebes is the work of several authors, who throughout these years have incorporated their grain of sand, avoiding pre-established literary sources to work on their own version based on the Gospels.

Naturally, the representations of The Passion would not be possible without people, and although it sounds very cliché, however, we can say that The Passion of Sant Climent Sescebes is the effort of the work of an entire town and also of the neighboring towns and villages.

We invite you to come and discover it: it is, without a doubt, the most significant procession in Alt Empordà and the Costa Brava North.
