Indiana Day in Canet de Mar
Canet de Mar is celebrating a new edition of the Indian Day!
A day to showcase, through tours, gastronomy, music, and a fair, the legacy left to us by the ancient Indians in the village.
The Indianos, also known as Americans, were those Catalans who, during the 19th and early 20th centuries, emigrated to the Spanish colonies in America, especially Cuba, Puerto Rico and other regions of the Caribbean, with the aim of making a fortune.
Many of them managed to prosper in businesses such as sugar, tobacco or coffee, and later returned to Catalonia, where they invested their wealth in the construction of luxurious residences known as Indiano houses.
Don't miss it!
