Guided tour of the Ordino Flour Mills
Why did Ordino need 23 flour mills in the 17th century?
The flour mill route is a route that connects La Cortinada with Ordino, lasting approximately three hours. The guide Inka Bellés takes you back to the 17th and 19th centuries to explain why there were twenty-three flour mills in Ordino, how they worked, who they belonged to and how they have survived to this day.
During the visit, you will be able to attend a demonstration of how wheat grain was ground in La Cortinada; explore the Cal Pal millstone. Afterwards, you will take a 3 km route on flat terrain to Ordino, where you will discover the secrets of these traditional constructions until you reach Santa Bárbara.
The guided tour ends with a tasting of cakes and breads made with different types of flour in Santa Bárbara. The route is done on foot and the return journey is done by parish bus.
