Ordino

Ordino is the tourist destination in the Principality of Andorra that has best known how to preserve and respect the natural environment. At 1,300 m high is where you can breathe the essence of the mountain, where the landscape is presented as a unique value. In the town of Ordino you must visit the church of Sant Corneli and Sant Cebrià, built in medieval times and remodeled during the 17th and 19th centuries. Inside we can find a Romanesque carving of a polychrome wooden Virgin from the late 11th century. 44 cm high, the smallest in the Principality of Andorra.

Also the Casa Areny-Plandolit Museum, a manor house dating from the 17th century, but most of the building structures are from the mid-19th century, a time of the family's economic boom thanks to the figure of Guillermo de Areny-Plandolit, baron of Senaller and Gramenet. Trustee general of the valleys of Andorra and promoter of the New Reform of 1866, he was one of the owners of the Andorran forges, an important industry until the 19th century, when it was displaced by the rise of the blast furnaces. It is very interesting and entertaining to see how this part of Andorra's history is told with holograms.

In the center of the town we also find the Mountain House with a space for discovering the natural environment and the Tourist Office where you can find all the information related to the tourist activities and services of the Principality of Andorra and specifically those of Ordino. At this tourist office they offer clue games to get to know the town in a different way. For families with children over 6 years old, they offer a game of clues through the center of town with a gift included!
