Els Llums de Sant Pau - "We light up your Christmas"
From November 20, 2025 to January 11, 2026, Els Llums de Sant Pau returns, one of Barcelona 's most iconic Christmas events, now in its fifth edition, full of light, color and fantasy.
With the slogan “We Light Up Your Christmas,” the public can enjoy a completely revamped light show, featuring 18 interactive installations that surprise at every turn. Among the most notable new features, the organizers Proactiv Entertainment, DEAG, and Handwerker Promotion highlight initiatives designed to make the visit even more immersive, such as more active participation from attendees, the presence of King Balthazar's Royal Camp, and a new challenge starring Llumi.
This is just a taste of what visitors can discover along the route. Tickets are now available at elsllumsdesantpau.com.
A review of the fifth edition of Els Llums de Sant Pau
The audience, the protagonist
Everyone understands Christmas differently, and this year the Lights of San Pablo aims to reflect that by inviting everyone to actively participate in the experience. This year's edition includes new participatory activities, both in-person and online, which will be revealed soon.
In this spirit, visitors have been invited to submit their own Christmas memories. Some will be selected and given a special place in the tour, becoming a unique and emotional element of the experience.
New creative perspectives
For the first time, an artistic call for submissions has been launched to incorporate an original work into the light display. This initiative opens the door to new creative visions from local talent, reinforcing the participatory spirit of this year's event.
The chosen work is Somni Borealis, an installation that evokes luminous northern landscapes with a poetic and sensory touch. It joins the exhibition this year as one of the major additions, alongside other pieces, many of them interactive and created by international artists.
The Royal Camp
Following last year's success, King Balthazar's Royal Camp returns bigger and better than ever. This year, it transforms into a complete experience with themed rooms, lights, and music, culminating in the most magical moment: handing your letter to King Balthazar.
Unlike last year, it will be operational throughout the season and will include new features that consolidate it as an essential activity of Christmas in Barcelona.
Entry is free but space is limited, so advance booking is recommended. Visitors with pre-purchased tickets will have priority.
Luce and the new challenge of the secret message
Llumi, the fallen star and symbol of experience, proposes this year a new interactive challenge that encourages you to discover a secret Christmas message.
At the start of the tour, each participant will receive a map with blank letters that they must fill in. Once all the letters are collected, the final message will be revealed, turning the visit into a game that combines light, history, and emotion.
A special edition to celebrate 5 years
With over 800,000 visitors across its four previous editions, Els Llums de Sant Pau has established itself as one of Barcelona's most beloved Christmas events. This year, it celebrates with a special 5-ticket pack, designed to share the experience with family and friends. This format has also been extended to cities like Málaga and Valencia, bringing this magic to different parts of Spain.
As usual, high demand is expected on weekends and holidays, so it is recommended to buy tickets in advance.
The event once again offers a food area located in the second square of the venue, with sweet and savory options to replenish energy before continuing the tour.
In the social sphere, this year the collaboration with the Enriqueta Villavecchia Children's Oncology Foundation will be renewed, which since 1989 has supported children and young people with cancer or other serious illnesses, as well as their families, while promoting assistance, research and training projects.
