International Museum Day at the Ripoll Ethnographic Museum
International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18 and, as every year, the Ripoll Ethnographic Museum organizes different free activities.
The Ripoll Ethnographic Museum displays a legacy that helps us understand a society based on material and immaterial heritage, of which the collections related to shepherds, peasantry, trades, popular religion, the Catalan forge and the wrought iron and Ripoll's portable firearms.
And in the Farga Palau, you will be able to enter an authentic forge workshop that closed its doors permanently in 1978. You will be able to see two hammers, the horns (which characterize the Catalan forge), the hydraulic wheel. and to know the process by which the type becomes suitable iron to be worked later.
