Carnival in Olesa de Montserrat
Olesa de Montserrat is celebrating Carnival!
Carnival is the ultimate celebration of debauchery, with great popular acceptance, with young and old filling the streets with costumes and joy, a spontaneous exercise of individual and collective freedom. It is celebrated from Fat Thursday to Ash Wednesday, on the new moon, and in one week, the Carnival King arrives, reigns, dies and is buried.
In Olesa de Montserrat, on Saturday there will be a joint procession through the streets of the town: one for the children and one for adults, with parades and floats that fill the festival with colour. There will also be the welcome of the Carnival King, the costume and dance competition, and the party with DJs.
