Parc Samà dresses up for Christmas!
As every year, Parc Samà is dressed up for Christmas! This romantic, historic and botanical garden in Cambrils, covering 14 hectares, hosts the Nativity scene, this year in its former stables.
It was commissioned by Salvador Samà i Torrens, Marquis of Marianao and heir to a Catalan family established in Cuba, who in 1881 entrusted the design to Josep Fontseré, the architect of Barcelona's Ciutadella Park. Antoni Gaudí, still a student at the time, assisted in the project, thus recapturing the park's exotic, colonial atmosphere. It is considered one of the finest examples of 19th-century Romantic garden design.
The garden features the old stables, a building of great artistic value built in 1890, intended to house the horses of the Samà family.
The interior features a corridor, and along both sides are twelve stalls for the horses, separated by brick partitions and enclosed by wooden grilles. It is a spacious and open area with numerous high windows for proper ventilation, lending both functionality and grandeur to the stables of the Marquisate of Marianao.
In this unique space you can discover and enjoy the Nativity Scene of Samà Park, which has changed location this year.
A Christmas in contact with nature and history designed for the whole family.
Don't miss it!
