Espai Moja, a unique immersive experience to discover Catalonia

If we had to describe a visit to Espai Moja: Catalonia, Living Heritage in one word, it would surely be: EXCITING. This space, located on the ground floor of the Palau Moja, invites us on a sensorial and interactive journey through the history and culture of our country.

Thanks to the latest immersive technologies —such as virtual reality, immersive projections, and tactile elements —we delve into Catalonia's heritage like never before: we discover monuments, hear voices from the past, meet historical figures, taste traditional cuisine, and participate in the most deeply rooted festivals.

This visit is completely free upon prior reservation!

All of this is part of the project " The Eyes of History. An immersive look at Catalan heritage," designed to bring heritage closer to citizens through innovative resources and emotionally compelling stories.

A journey through time and emotion

The visit begins by crossing the Portal of Time, a symbolic threshold that leads us to a new dimension where past and present coexist. From here, we become protagonists of a journey in which each space tells a part of our history.

🕰️ "Time Capsules": The Story, in First Person

Virtual reality headsets transport us to key moments such as 2nd-century Tarraco, the Seu Vella in Lleida in 1442, the Palau Moja in 1748, and a 19th-century textile factory. It's an intense experience: we can feel the vertigo of an elevator that transports us to different moments in history or be moved by the sight of a 12-year-old girl working in a factory.

✨ "The Mirror of a Thousand Reflections": beauty and visual spectacle

An immersive space that will captivate you visually. Here, through spectacular projections, we delve into landscapes such as the Roca de los Moros del Cogul, the Romanesque architecture of San Clemente de Taüll, the modernism of the Pau Casals House Museum, and the Tarraco Amphitheater. A true visual journey through Catalonia's rich heritage.

🗣️ "Living language": Catalan in all its forms

Discovering how our language varies across regions can be very entertaining! In this space, you can play with the different dialectal variations of Catalan and test yourself by pronouncing words typical of each region.

🍳 “Everyone at the table!”: the kitchen as cultural heritage

An original activity where you can "cook" typical Catalan dishes... without getting dirty! A fun way to learn about our gastronomy and its connection to traditions by relating them to the season.

More spaces to explore

Other spaces, such as " Landscapes Full of Stories," " Footprints Through Time," " The Echo of Voices, " and " Emotions Within the Festival," give us a close-up look at the festivals, characters, and settings that make up Catalonia's great cultural mosaic. Each room is a window into our collective identity.
